Infant-Parent and Early Childhood Mental Health

Support during pregnancy and for children ages 0-6 and their families

Deep respect for parents, children and families; compassion and curiosity guide my work with this unique and vulnerable population.  And since we were all children once, a lot gets provoked (often unexpectedly), as we undertake the awesome responsibility of raising small humans.  When the expectable challenges of parenting get compounded by fussiness during infancy, problems connecting with/ understanding your child, bad memories from childhood stirred up in the parents, or experiences of trauma, families need extra support.  Difficult behaviors and relational problems can be addressed through psychotherapy that will involve the child and their caregivers.  I utilize play therapy, family therapy, and  individual consultations as needed to best address your goals.  For children and families who have experienced trauma, I use the Child-Parent Psychotherapy and am a rostered provider in this approach.

Because caregivers and their young children typically feel the most at ease and natural in their home environment, I provide home visiting, if that is safe and desired.  There is a small additional travel fee based on time and mileage from Redwood City in addition to my regular rate.  Sessions at my centrally located office on El Camino Real in Redwood City are also an option.
